A Harmless Little Affair

Did I read 50 Shades of Grey? Uh… the whole series in a weekend! I was thrilled that women’s sexuality was openly being discussed.

However, I couldn’t relate to the main female character at all. She was underweight because she forgot to eat and graduated college still a virgin. Um… no.

There is a quote above my desk in my study from Toni Morrison that reads, “If there is a book that you want to read, but it hasn’t been written yet, then you must be the one to write it.” I wanted to write a book that I could relate to but also create a story that keeps you on the edge of your seat. I’m confident that I’ve accomplished that with A Harmless Little Affair.

You won’t be dissapointed…

I had a whole speech prepared. I had gone over it again and again, editing it in my mind all the way to the bar. But now that he was in front of me, I had lost all my words and my mind simply buzzed.

I finally managed, “I don’t know what to say.”

Griffin continued to stare at me until I began to feel my skin burn. Finally he said, “You don’t need to say anything, Ava.” He reached to his side, unknotted the towel, and let it drop to where it was now draping the bottom of the chair like a lazy curtain. “Just take what you need.”

Very intriguing plot line. While it could have had an extraordinary amount of sex, it kept it tastefully at bay. Enjoyed it very much. Of the main characters, I kept changing my mind on which one to root for.
